MICROBLADING
Microblading (manual technique) is a cosmetic pigmentation technique for eyebrow enhancement that uses a fine blade to deposit pigment into the skin, creating natural-looking hairs.
Microblading does NOT replace makeup.
Microblading is for adding hair where it is missing in the same color as your existing hair.
Perfect for:
- Thin or sparse eyebrows
- Correction of eyebrow shape and thickness
- Eyebrow symmetry
How long does Microblading last?
People with dry or normal skin often find that their microblading lasts longer, as the pigment tends to hold better on less oily skin types.
If you have oilier skin, the pigment may fade faster because the oils can break down the pigment faster.
Proper aftercare is crucial to the longevity of your microbladed brows. Following the instructions can significantly affect how long your results last.
Exposure to UV rays can cause the pigment to fade faster. Protecting your brows from the sun by wearing a hat or sunscreen can help extend the life of your brows.
Using products with harsh chemicals, exfoliants, or retinoids around your brows can cause the pigment to fade faster. Avoid applying harsh products to your brows. Only use products recommended by your artist.
Activities that affect the lifespan of your brows include excessive sweating, such as intense exercise or sauna bathing. Moderately engaging in these activities can help keep your brows looking fresh.
If you notice significant fading or uneven color after 12 to 18 months, it's time for a touch-up. Touch-ups not only refresh the color, but also allow you to make any necessary adjustments to the shape and fullness of your brows.
Microblading offers a fantastic way to enhance your natural beauty with minimal maintenance. They can last up to 18 months, but their longevity depends on several factors, including your skin type, your aftercare routine and your lifestyle.
We cannot guarantee how long your particular eyebrows will last for you. We can guarantee that we always do our best to create the absolute finest and most natural eyebrows for your particular face. By following the tips provided and scheduling regular refills, you can enjoy beautiful, defined brows for a longer period of time.
How does the treatment work?
Consultation & Brow Shaping:
This treatment begins with a consultation where we assess your facial features and discuss your desired brow look and ensure you are medically cleared (read before treatment eyebrows) and have followed our pre-treatment preparation steps. We shape and style your eyebrows to complement your natural structure. A specially blended pigment is selected to match your natural or desired brow colour, after carefully considering your current skin tone and which pigment will best ensure a natural result.
Microblading application:
During application, fine, hair-like brush strokes are strategically drawn onto the brow surface with precision tools to mimic natural brow hairs. The process typically takes up to 150 minutes, and an anesthetic is applied for your comfort. The result is a very natural and realistic look that enhances your brows in the most subtle way. You will be given instructions for the best aftercare for your brows. We recommend aftercare ointment for cosmetic pigmentation and shampoo, which are available for purchase at the clinic.
The filling:
Microblading is a two-visit process. A touch-up visit is recommended 4-6 weeks after your first treatment to assess the healing of the brush strokes and fill in any areas as needed. This ensures that your brows heal beautifully and last longer. You are responsible for booking your touch-up appointment. If you cannot find a time that suits you, please contact us via text or email.
What can you expect after the treatment?
The brows may look reddish and/or darker during the first week. The brows may also look lighter after the dead skin has been removed. The color will then return after a few days. In some cases, some hairs may disappear. In this case, we will correct this at the follow-up. Final results will be clearly visible after about 4–6 weeks. Then it's time for your follow-up!
Follow-up is important, as we can then make any corrections. Adjustments can only be made once the eyebrows have healed. It is advisable to make any adjustments approximately 4-6 weeks after the first treatment, and then again every 12 months when a refill or color correction will be needed if you want to maintain the same results.
If you do not return after about 4–6 weeks, the opportunity to make adjustments and get the best possible results will be lost.
At your follow-up visits, we will evaluate your skin's reaction to the treatment and make any necessary adjustments (such as lightening spots). We will also make sure that the color, texture, and shape look amazing!
After any adjustment and/or refilling, it is important that you follow our advice for aftercare.
Why do I need a refill?
During your return visit, the artist will fill in the "hairlines" you got during your first session and add more ink to extend their longevity. Additional lines can also be added to give your eyebrows more dimension and lines. Keep in mind that your new eyebrows are like putting nail polish on your fingernail. To get a solid, nice color, the nail artist will need to apply two to three coats of nail polish. It's the same with your eyebrows.
Is cosmetic pigmentation painful?
Most people say that getting a cosmetic pigmentation treatment is not painful, but it can be a little uncomfortable. We usually use numbing solutions to reduce any discomfort.
Is cosmetic pigmentation safe?
Cosmetic pigmentation involves making small incisions in the skin. These small open wounds can become infected if not treated properly. To avoid complications, it is important to follow the aftercare tips. One of the most important rules is that it is absolutely forbidden to wear makeup during the healing period, 4-6 weeks.
In extremely rare cases, there may be an immediate or delayed allergic reaction to the pigment. A negative patch test result does not guarantee that you will not develop an allergic reaction after the entire procedure. Allergic reactions to anesthetics may occur. Infections may occur if aftercare instructions are not followed correctly. Swelling and redness and/or itching may occur after the treatment. Experience shows that these symptoms are transient. You may experience minor bleeding. There is also a possible risk of scarring.
If you have an MRI scan within 3 months of your cosmetic pigmentation, you should notify/discuss this with your doctor.
Old pigmentation
Cosmetic pigmentation has been around for a long time. That means there are people who have had cosmetic pigmentation done more than 10 years ago. As we age, things change with our skin and the pigments in our skin change. While some people experience a gradual fading of their permanent makeup, others' skin retains the pigment for a long time. While you may be able to cover up old work a few times, there comes a point when it's better to erase and think again.
There are so many reasons why clients want to remove old pigmentation: Maybe the shape is not perfect for you anymore. Maybe your hair color has changed, or maybe your eyebrows now look too dark? The challenge is whether to opt for a removal or whether to choose to cover up the old work with pigment.
If you choose to remove, this ensures that the old pigment in the skin is removed or lightened. This gives you a new chance to start over. If you choose to cover your brows, we would try to neutralize the color. This is not an exact science as we do not know what color or brand you have previously used. Which method is best depends entirely on how your brows look today and what risk you are willing to take.
